Obituary of Sarah C. Petras

Sarah “Sally” C. Petras, age 79 of McKeesport, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at LGAR Health & Rehabilitation Center, Turtle Creek, PA. She was born March 15, 1939 in New Eagle, PA, the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Lois Seng Plummer.

In her early years Sally worked at R.E. Kaplan Furniture, Pittsburgh Playhouse, Hamil Manufacturing and Johnston the Florist. She enjoyed sewing and making clothes and costumes for her daughter. Her greatest joy was tending to her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leslie F. Petras; daughter, Danielle Anthony of N. Huntingdon; brother, Daniel Plummer of Santa Monica, CA; and grandchildren, Katherine Rose and Gabriel J. Anthony.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Service, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412-678-6177). (Parastas service will be held Monday at 4:00 pm.) Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 410 Sixth Ave., McKeesport, PA 15132, with Fr. Donald Voss officiating. Entombment will follow.
