My deepest sympathy to the entire Zegar family. Such fond memories of our younger days in the junior tamburitzans. Marty was a caring, compassionate man. May he rest in peace.

Please accept our family's deepest condolences. Marty was a lifelong friend of our family as was his father and mother, and brother Stephen. Our fathers were shipmates and became Kumovi during World War II. Marty was a loving son to his parents, the Late Joe and Mary Zegar; a loving and cherished husband to Donna, an awesome father to Christopher and Jennifer; and beloved brother to Stephen (Janet) Zegar and uncle to Alexandra. Marty was a super intelligent and very talented individual all of his life. He wrote musical arrangements for the tamburitza since he was 15 years old and was once a master of the tamburitza brach instrument. He and his brother Stephen had several bands in their early years and they played with many great musicians throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Stephen eventually went on to a scholarship with the world famous Duquesne Tamburitzans while Marty finished his engineering degree attending Point Park College and the Carnegie Technical Institute. He was well respected as a Nuclear Engineer at Westinghouse and retired from there after 43 years of service. Unfortunately for all of us, Marty retired from playing music many years ago to devote time to his family, his job, and his love of fishing and the outdoors. We shall miss Marty, as will all who knew him. May his soul be at peace in his heavenly reward! We shall drink a toast in your honor, celebrate your life, and look forward to the day when we shall meet again good friend! The Krilich Brothers and Families
